This article presents an initial-stage research project that analyzes the constitution and organization of practical-musical knowledge in Music teacher education through a comparative documentary analysis between the Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana (Brazil) and the Instituto Politécnico de Bragança (Portugal). The study examines the curricular documents of the Music Degree at UEFS, as well as the Study Plans of the Degree in Music in Community Contexts (1st cycle) and the Master's Degree in Music Teaching (2nd cycle) at IPB, considering the regulatory frameworks that guide teacher education in both contexts: Resolution CNE/CP No. 4/2024 (Brazil) and the Bologna Process (Portugal). Grounded in theoretical perspectives on teachers’ knowledge and Music Education, the research discusses the articulation between musical training and pedagogical preparation within curricular organization. The study adopts a qualitative and interpretative approach based on documentary analysis. The expected results aim to contribute to the debate on curriculum, teacher professionalization, and the integration between practical-musical and pedagogical knowledge in initial Music teacher education.
